“See that you do not look down on one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven” (Matthew 18:10).

Jesus loves children. So do you & I. That’s why we do what we can to rescue them from dire poverty and hopelessness. Their innocence and vulnerability push us forward. Their joy is our reward. Thank you for joining with Orphans First through prayer and finances.

Last month, we featured our work in the slums in India reaching out to extremely poor children. This month, let’s discuss our program just over the border from California in the drug-riddled barrio of Pedregales, Mexico (above).

Several kids suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) from seeing their parents killed; others have suffered abuse such as 9-year-old Michael, seen here with me in a green t-shirt. Michael also has high autism. Then there’s 11-year-old Christopher, featured in our March newsletter, and seen with me in the photo above and here to the right of Louis, my husband. Christopher’s Grandma struggles to cope with all the kids, and finds him particularly difficult because of his unresolved anger issues. Pray for Christopher, Michael, also Noemi who also suffers from PTSD—and for all the children with their diverse needs.

But in spite of challenges, as in our Orphans First programs and homes in India, God is also at work in Mexico. Children are being transformed. Enjoy these photos of the children enjoying games, stories with Deanna and hugs from Pastor Fede (see Michael in green, and tiny Nieve in red).

Thank you for praying for these precious children and for supporting our homes and programs. Tax-deductible contributions can be sent to the address above—or via the website:
