Grace Home in Guntur, India, is an ongoing Orphans First children’s home.

At Grace Home the children are not only rescued from poverty, they are also trained to become disciples. They enjoy sharing their faith in surrounding villages. Since the 1980s, Grace Home has helped hundreds of orphans and poor children—providing them with a home, education and close church family. Some of the Grace Home children are learning English, a trade, or training to serve God. (One boy, Suresh, became a Bible school teacher.)

All are learning the joy of being embraced by the love of God as well as receiving a sound education. In 2008, 110 children enjoy living in Grace Home. Grace Home workers also feed and teach the Bible to nearby street children. Pray for the health and safety of the children and those taking care of them—especially for Pastor Philip Samuel and his family, running the home. Pray also for larger facilities, good water, and more teachers. Because of poverty, many Indian children are forced to work. Many of our children in Grace Home have been rescued from a life of labor. They are grateful and feel privileged to be educated and learn about Jesus. Pray we can reach more children in India.

I recently visited the work of Orphans First in India, and wasn't disappointed. One of the children’s homes in Guntur was the highlight of my trip. As I played with and ate with the children in Guntur, it was evident that they were being taken care of both physically and spiritually.
